Welcome to ComLaw (Commonwealth Law)
ComLaw is an integral part of the Australian Law Online initiative to bring low- or no-cost access to the law for the community and is maintained by the Australian Attorney-General's Department.
Comlaw incorporates the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) which was established under section 20 of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003 (the LIA).
Last minute details of ComLaw 2 changeover
Posted 12 January 2011
As a website user, you will still be able to access ComLaw 1 right up until the time we switch over to ComLaw 2. You should not experience any interruption of service unless you’re online at the exact moment of the changeover, which is expected to occur sometime over the weekend of 15-16 January (or in the early hours of Monday 17 January at the latest).
We will not be publishing any new material on ComLaw/FRLI during the transition, and if a legislative instrument needs to be registered urgently it will be gazetted as permitted under section 31 of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003. Agencies needing more information and assistance should contact the FRLI help desk on (02) 6141 4387.

Congratulations to everyone involved, now and over all the years. This is truly the end of an era and will be celebrated by all those involved in this multiyear project.
