SCALEplus is the legal information retrieval system owned by the Australian Attorney-General's Department. SCALEplus is an integral part of the Australian Law Online initiative to bring low or no-cost access to the law for the community.

How to use SCALEplus

Start with the Quick Reference sheet. More detail can be can be found in the User Guide (Download RTF). Otherwise go to the Quick Search and start using the system. If you have some familiarity with the Internet and the World Wide Web you will find it fairly easy to get good results from SCALEplus.

Browser Requirements

SCALEplus has been upgraded to include Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

If your browser is IE 3.x or Netscape Navigator 4.x vintage then you may need to disable style sheets in your preferences or upgrade your browser.

The Style Sheet has been fine tuned to address browser problems with printing and window resizing.

Printing Tip

If you are using IE then make sure that the option for printing background colours and images is turned off. In IE 6 (and it's probably the same in IE 5.5) this is found under Tools -> Internet Options..., Advanced Tab. Netscape may have a similar option.
